Outlook erasing messages from POP Server...

I use the same e-mail drop for multiple platforms and machines
(Win/Linux/OS2/MacOS 9 and X/BeOS and IRIX) in several locations, it seems
Outlook is the only one which doesn't play well with others. Outlook 2000 and
2007 seems to want to erase all messages from servers when retrieving mail
(which can be maddening at times). SO...the question:

How (or where is the setting) does one make outlook NOT erase messages on
the server when retrieving e-mail?

In you account settings press More Options...-> tab Advanced-> option Leave
a copy on the server

I've done exactly as you say and selected "leave copy on the server" in my
home Outlook 2007 and my work Outlook 2003 for my Gmail POP3 account; but I
still find that my messages are being erased.

Please help.

PMFJI, but on Gmail, did you go to the Settings page and, under Forwarding
and POP, make sure that 'When messages are accessed via POP' is set to 'keep
Gmail's copy in the Inbox'?

Yes (I should have stated so earlier) I have set Gmail's POP setting to
'keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox'? Still no dice.

Darn. That particular dropdown bit me hard. I still haven't figured out
where I downloaded the mail too.

Unfortunately, my next step would have been to do a network sniff to
actually read the pop conversation (I never liked OL's logging) to see what
it is sending, but I'm sure that's overkill.
