Outlook Editor & Hyperlinks with a trailing bracket

Software: Outlook 2003 SP3 (with Exchange 2003 SP2), Outlook Editor, Format
HTML

When pasting a hyperlink into a new HTML message (Outlook Editor), I found
that the hyperlink gets corrupt if the last character is a bracket ")". The
editor's coloring already separates the bracket (blue vs. black) and the
hyperlink properties really come up with all characters but the last (the
bracket).

Link example: http://www.company.com/portal/Service-Desk (Hotline)

Word behaves differently (i.e. correctly).

Obviously a bug, but I could't find any KB article or other posts addressing
this issue.

Does anybody know a solution?

Is there no real solution available? I can hardly tell a user to repair
pasted URLs that way. It would be easier to use the Insert -> Hyperlink menu
anyway.

That is the real solution if you choose to use the outlook editor. Switch to
word as the editor and it works without the brackets.

FWIW, it's easier for me to type < ctrl+v to paste the url and type another
than it is to go through the menu to insert a hyperlink but to each his
