Outlook Duplicate Emails

If I send an email to a contact and also 'cc' a group contact that includes
the same contact, they are receiving the email twice. Is there any way to
prevent that?

Hi,
Send the message with the group in the TO field and put the additional
Contacts which are not in the group in the CC field.

That depends on the mail server being used. In general is is configured to
detect this. If you don't control the mail server you have to maually check
it for duplicate used addresses before you're sending.
