Outlook doesn't recognize Word as e-mail editor

When I try to sendor reply to a message I get a dialog box that says:
"Microsoft Office Word. Interface not registered." and the message is not
sent. I restarted Outlook and when hitting New or Replay another dialog box
says that Word is not available or installed and that I should run Setup
again. This happens even after I go to Options and set Word as the e-mail
editor. I also reinstalled/repaired Office and keep having the same problem.
Is it there a solution?

Thanks.

Word must be the same version as Outlook or you cannot use Word as your email
editor. Could that be the problem?

No, that cannot be. We use the whole Office 2003 suite, although Oulook once
suggested that Word was not the same version. It was then when I decided to
reinstall Office. Thanks

Click Start>Run and enter this:

regsvr32.exe ole32.dll

and see if that helps.

Obviously not, because the OP said:

He would not have been able to do this if the versions didn't match.

Thank you. It worked! Could you please explain what did I run? Was this
library not present or active?

The OLE32.DLL was not properly registered. The REGSVR32 program takes care
of that.

Hi Brian,

I have the same message of Interface and Click Start>Run and enter this:
regsvr32.exe ole32.dll

Unfortunnatly, it still happened after a while. Is there something else to
do?? I uninstall Office 2003, install it again but have the same error
message when trying to send email with word as teh editor...

Appreciate your help.

I have a similar problem (Word 2003 - Window XP) I do not receive an error
message - I just cannot "select" Word as my editor. The only choices I show
are: GoLive, Publisher and Note Pad. (I have checked Word and Outlook, both
versions are the same). I have also done the following: "Click Start>Run and
enter this: regsvr32.exe ole32.dll". Any other suggestions that will help me
set-up Word as my editor? Thank you for your help.
Jane

I'm still having trouble, but it seems like you know what you're doing. Can
you give me another option for the same problem (either word is not
available, not installed or not the same version, and I have the professional
2003 suite)?

Start->run, type "regsvr32.exe ole32.dll" and press okay. This should reregister the object and get rid of the error message.
