outlook doesn't receive email, only blackberry does. Why?

I have recently joined the BB world. I have used a Blackberry Curve for
about a month. I have been tweaking it, and have had Blackberry tech support
on the phone having me uninstall, reinstall, etc.
Now I have this problem --
My emails all go to my Blackberry.
Almost no emails come to my laptop Outlook. (a few emails from within the
office get to my Outlook, but I don't understand why. If I send a message to
myself, it goes to my BB, but does not come back to my own Outlook.)
BB tech support says it is an Outlook issue, not a BB issue, and they have
washed their hands of it.
Any ideas what needs to be changed to get my email to show in my Outlook too?
My Outlook is where I want my email to be stored, not BB.
By the way, we do not use an Exchange server, so I don't think I can
de-select the "cache" option. This was mentioned as a fix to a similar
problem when I tried to Google for an answer.

Outlook was already configured to leave a copy on the server (for 1 day). I
don't think BB has a similar configuration. If so, I can't find it.
Any other possibilities?

Your email is "delivered" to the server. Email clients, like outlook and the
blackberry, then download that email. The question is, do they then delete
it, if so, then it cannot be subsequently downloaded by another email client.
It sounds like your blackberry is downloading the email then deleting it
from the server so it is not available to outlook. There is definitely a
setting on the blackberry to leave a copy on the server, you just have to
find it.
