Hello

I have a few clients that run outlook automatically on startup and have it
minimised to the systemtray. However upon logout it doesnt always close
without them having to end task, does anyone know if their is a way to make
it close without doing this?

I did think that it could do this when its working on something like send
and recieve but i have watched it and this doesnt appear to be the case.

Never log out without closing your applications first.

Yeah i would of expected something like that, but we all know what end users
are like. So i was just trying to see if anyone had found another way around
it?

There isnt; other than finding a method of preventing logging out if any

When Outlook loads, it must also load all enabled add-ons. If an add-on
hangs or crashes on load then Outlook also hangs or crashes. When
Outlook unloads, it must also unload all the loaded add-ons. If an
add-on hangs or crashes on unload then Outlook also hangs or crashes.

Some add-ons will keep Outlook loaded until those add-ons complete their
function. For example, the PFB (Personal Folders Backup) add-on will
save a copy of the .pst file when Outlook is exited and it is an
eligible time to perform the backup. The backup takes time. Until the
backup completes, Outlook must remain loaded.

See what happens when you tell your clients to load Outlook in its safe
mode ("outlook.exe /safe") which will not load any add-ons or COM
plug-ins for Outlook. Or have them review what add-ons they installed
to see if they really want them. It is also possible that they need a
newer version of an add-on.
