Outlook data file

I run XP and Vista on the same computer due to hardware compatibility issues.
Can I sync Outlook in XP and Outlook in Vista to the same Outlook.pst file?
When I try to open the Outlook pst file that I use in Vista when I'm in XP,
it just reverts to a new Outlook pst file on the XP hard drive. If outlook
provides the option to "open" Outlook files; it seems strange it would
restrict it to a specific file in a specific folder.

I went back to Outlook in XP and found that it had opened the correct file
but for some reason there were more than one set of folders in the file and
it had opened a blank set of folders so none of my emails, contacts, notes,
etc. were visible. I don't understand how it continued to refer back to a
new Outlook.pst file on the XP drive after I "opened" the Outlook.pst file on
the Vista drive. As long as it saves everything to the correct file, I'll be
happy.

Modify the mail profile on the instance with the new PST to use the old PST
as the delivery location.
