Outlook Creating Extra Folders

Why does outlook create additional contact, task and calendar folders? I
only use one of each but periodically additional folders show up. I can
delete them but they later reappear.

Do these extra folders appear at the same level as the others or are they
children of another message store?

They show up at the same level. So I have 4 contacts folders...the one I
use, 2 empty ones and an archive one. I have 3 task folders...one active and
2 empty. 3 calendar folders, one I use and 2 empty ones

Same level. For instance I have 3 of all types of folders - calendar, task
and contact, not including the archive folder. In each case the 2 extra
folders are just empty.

Since you can't have two folders with the same name in the same message
store, what you are describing is impossible. I'm sure you see what you
think you see, but I'm not getting the picture. Any chance you can post a
screen shot?
