I have a problem where outlook crasjes everytime I try to move an email from
my inbox into a different personal folder. This problem has been getting
worse for the last few weeks. Earlier it would crash once in a while but now
it crashes everytime.

Any ideas?

Not without any info about your configuration;
Version of Outlook?
Type of account?
Exact error message?
What is logged to the Event Viewer?
What size is the pst-file?
Tried scanpst.exe already?

Check the file size of the Personal folder. I have seen this problem when it
gets to be over 1 gig. They say it has a 2 gig limit but i have seen it start
to have issues at 1 gig. If it is over 1 gig break it down into 2 different
personal folders then compress them back down.

I also have this problem for the last few days.

I have an Exchange 5.5 SP4 serer running on Windows 2000 and since
Friday users can't drag multiple emails from their inbox to other
folders. I have a second Exchange 5.5 server with the other half of our
users and its working fine.

I've tried a few things:

First I created a test account on the Server1 (the one thats having the
problem) and put some new mails into the inbox. Tried moving them to
folders but Outlook crashes. I then moved the test mailbox to Server2
(the one thats working) and I can drag and drop as many emails as I
want without any issues.

I tried a restart of Server1 - issue still occuring
I tried disabling the virus scanner on Server 1 - issue still occurs
I tried using different versions of Outlook - issue still occurs

As I said I've tried it on multiple mailboxes all of differnet sizes
with no success but its working fine on another identical server - the
only differnce is that Server1 has an internet mail connector and
Server2 does not.

Please help!!!

Got this one sorted in the end. Tried reapplying SP4 and some hotfixes.
Didn't work. Ran the performance optimiser on the Exchange server and
it suggested moving the IMC's files off the e drive (RAID5) and onto
the d drive (mirrored), restarted the IMC and its working now!
