Outlook corrupted

I have Microsoft Office Professional 2003. One day I opened it and it gave
me an error message stating:

"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Errors have been detected in
the file C:\Documents and Settings\Casey McAdams\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst. Quit Outlook and all mail-enabled
applications, and then use the Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose
and repair errors in the file. For more information regarding the Inbox
repair tool, see Help."

I did a search on my computer and found the file Scanpst.exe and ran the
scan. It came back and reported no errors. I even uninstalled and
reinstalled all of Microsoft Office and it still reports the error and will
not allow Office to open. What do I do to get my Outlook working again
because I am having to use Outlook Express.

No need to post three times. Try a new mail profile. Is your PST a Unicode
or an ANSI PST?

I don't remember. Is there anyway to find out?

See if you can find out in Control Panel's Mail applet. Click the Data
Files button, select the PST, then click Settings. If the "Personal
Folders" dialogue opens, examine the "Format" field. If it does not contain
"(97-2002)" after the words "Personal Folders File", it's Unicode and I
don't see how it can be too large, unless its on a FAT32 partition and
exceeds 4 GB. If it does show "(97-2002)", then it's an ANSI PST and will
be unusable at about 1.8 GB. Let us know what you find.
