Outlook Contacts not showing up in Mail Merge

S

Sharon

I have been trying to do a mail merge and when I select Outlook Contacts for
my recipients list it shows that there are 784 contacts in the folder, but
the list comes up empty.

This is happening in both Publisher and Word.

I have Microsoft Office 2007.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hi Ben,

From my Publisher document, I am selecting Tools > Mail Merge.

This brings up 3 options for selecting the data source for the recipients. I
am choosing Outlook Contacts.

This step brings up a window where I can select one of the folders in my
contacts. The "Contacts" folder is showing 784 contacts.

When I highlight that and click ok, the Mail Merge Recipients window comes
up, but the list is empty.

I have tried doing the same thing fom Word and had the same problem.

Thanks.

You failed to configure your Outlook Address Book correctly. Configure your
default Outlook profile so that it displays the correct Contacts Folder by
default.
Or if you don't know how to do that, start your merge from Outlook by first
selecting the Contacts to which you want to merge.

Thank you Russ,

I played around with profiles and data sources and something I did must have
worked because the list is now full.

Thanks again.

A lot of folks don't discover that their Outlook Address Book is
misconfigured until they try to do a mail merge.

:

Can you give us some more detail on the exact steps you're taking to
initiate this merge?
