This one is strange. I will post this on the Exchange and
Outlook newsgroups also.

When I try to create a new email in Outlook (inbox, new)
and go the Contacts folder and use the arrow to move down
in the list at some point it stops and closes the
program. If I use the slide bar it doesn't seem to occur.

I have tested this on several PC's The only ones having
this issue are running Windows XP OS and Office 2000. We
are using Exchange 2000. Our Terminal Server Windows NT
TS running Office XP does not have the issue at the PC or
through Citrix, nor does running Office 2000 on Windows
2000 OS.

This is only occuring with one user, I have looked for bad
contact info but this does not seeem to be the issue.

Postings on the here say it may be an Exchange issue
although my findings may point to Windows XP as well.

Please help and thanks for the help.

If it's only on the one system, try setting up a profile in outook for that
user on another system and see if it does the same thing. Are the contacts
kept on the server or in a .pst file? Either way, I'm guessing file
corruption.

If the contacts are kept on the server, export them to a pst, delete them
from the server, run scanpst on the pst file and re-import them. If they
are kept in a .pst file, just run scanpst on the file.

scanpst can be found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033
