Outlook contacts cannot be used to address letters and envelopes in WORD
unless contact has an email sddress. Those contacts without an email address
don't show up as being in the address book in WORD. I have requested help on
this issue from Microsoft but so far I have not received any usefull help. I
have used a fictitious email address as a work-around-- "(e-mail address removed)", but
that shows up as part of the address requiring editing.

My version of OUTLOOK is not an upgrade from IMO support mode of OUTLOOK. It
is a new version from the OFFICE 2003 CD-ROM. In going through the steps
outlined in Article ID 301447, I never was able to find a registry key
identified as "MailSupport" in any of the versions of Office listed - 8.0,
9.0, 10.0, or 11.0.

Nice of you to provide this information.
Now tell me how you migrated your Contacts data, how your Outlook Address
Book is configured, and how your Contacts appear in the Outlook Address
Book.

(1) I exported my Contacts Data into Outlook from WORD PERFECT 10.

(2) Please be specific with regard to how my Outlook Address Book is
configured. I don't know what information you are looking for.

(3) Please be specific as to what you are looking for in asking how my
contacts appear in the Outlook Express Book.

Thanks.

Oh good grief.
Just provide an accurate and comprehensive description of your problem
including all the steps you used to create your Contacts.
We aren't mind readers and you have left out so much information that no one
could even hazard a guess.
Tell me how one would "export Contacts Data into Outlook from WORD PERFECT
10."
Tell me why Outlook Express has suddenly been brought into this equation.

My problem is that the Outlook Address Book Contacts cannot be used to
address mail in WORD unless the contacts have either a FAX number or an email
address. This is not a unique unknown problem since I have seen this
complaint many times on the user group sites.

I successfully exported my address book(s) from CorelCENTRAL 10
(WORDPERFECT)into OUTLOOK 2003 and then checked each and every contact to
make sure they were entered correctly as if I would have entered them
manually.

Try putting four contact addresses into OUTLOOK - two without email
addresses or fax numbers, and two with either fax numbers or email addresses
- and then try to address a letter or envelope in WORD with all of them and
you will see my problem.

My reference to Outlook Express was a typo. I meant to say OUTLOOK. I did
not intend to bring Outlook Express "into the equation".

As to your "OH GOOD GRIEF" comment, it sounds like you got out of bed on the
wrong side of the bed this morning. I would have expected more courtesy than
that from a Microsoft MVP.

There is one documented cause for this problem. I posted the solution to it.
Only then did you have the "courtesy" to post back with enough information
to indicate it did not apply to your situation. Those details should have
been included in your initial post. We cannot read minds. If we could then I
would have left your post unanswered since there are no documented solutions
to your problem nor are there sufficient details as to how you created your
Contact Records. You wasted my time and yours.
I would suggest you keep calling Microsoft for a solution. Perhaps you will
fare better.
As for courtesy, perhaps you do not understand how peer to peer groups work.
Volunteers post back of their own free will on their own free time with
information that might help.
The less information you provide, the less information you will receive.
Good luck.

Did you have WordPerfect installed on this partition when you installed
Word?
If so, you may have a conflict in your MAPI core files. Read this:
