Outlook Contacts "Can not display the folder"

I upgraded from Office 2003 to 2007 and I can see all of my emails and email
folders, tasks, calender items etc. but I can't see any of my contact
records. I am getting a "Can not display the folder". My .pst file is on my
server not my local hard drive. I'm thinking my .pst file is corrupt and I've
tried to run inbox repair tool but it always stops responding after it has
finished doing the 8 steps but before it actually completes the whole
process. Can anyone help me?

Move the pst-file back to your local hard drive and try running scanpst.exe
against it again.

Note that connecting to pst-files stored on a network location is not
supported nor recommended by Microsoft as it could lead to poor performance,
data corruption and even data loss.

If scanpst.exe is unable to fix it, you can try to use a commercial repair
too but these don't come cheap.
A tool that I had good results with in the past is;
