Crystall ball is in offline mode
Try either Detect/Repair or Office Diagnostics depending on version of
Outlook
When you've done that, come back

I have this same issue.
I just upgraded from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 (the full Office 2007
Suite) and have an exchange 2000 server.
I can see all the emails in preview mode and can open any meeting notice,
but I can not open any email sent to me nor can I open a new email message to
send one. I can use calendar and I can create meeting and send them. I can
view my contacts. It is just viewing the email messages and new messages.
This is problematic since I cannot change the exchange server.

I just tried the safe mode and I can opne up the emails. So what does that
mean then?

It means that the likely cause is an add-in you have installed.

I have removed all add -ins that are listed, and it still has the problem.

Could it be part of the other add-ins and features with office 2007 like
grove, onenote and infopath that are installed on the system during the
installation of Office. I could un-install and then only install the core of
office and see if that fixes it. are there soem Res edits that I should do to
make sure that I have a clean new install?

I doubt any of those other Office apps (Grooce, OneNote or InfoPath) are the
cause, but if Outlook works in safe mode and not otherwise, then you must have
something integrated with Outlook or, possibly, Word that is causing the
problem. Do you have any antivirus or -spam scanner that scans incoming or
outgoing mail? How about Word add-ins or macros? You can also try disabling
everything found in the COMS Add-in Manager and reenabling them one at a time
until something messes up.
