Outlook changes sender when replying to email

When I hit 'reply' to an email sent to me Outlook 2003 always changes the
sender to another account (my husband's), although my email address is the
default, so that it looks to the recipient as if he has replied, even though
they sent the email to my email address in the first place. Every time I have
to remember (and often don't) to click the Accounts button to change the
respondent back to myself.

Have searched around and can find no reason for this. Any ideas would be
very helpful for this extremely irritating problem.

Outlook will by default use the email address of the account which received
the email (which appears to be contrary to the way you say it is working).
Are both email accounts in the same profile or do you have separate logons
for checking email? How do you know that the email was received in your
account and not your husbands?

We have always used the same logon and Outlook is definitely NOT using the
email address of the account that received the email - when an email is sent
to me and I just hit the 'reply' button it always resets the sender email
address to that of my husband. Have checked everything I can think of and
have found no reason for this. I am a fairly advanced user and have even
tried finding a setting in the registry to no avail. It used to be fine and
looking back through sent emails appears to have started spontaneously some
time in January this year. Can't recall having done anything different or
new at that time.

Sorry, missed the second part of the question - firstly I have rules that
sort the emails into different folders and also I can see which email address
the message has been sent to. Also friends and relatives have commented that
although they sent an email to me it has been replied to using my husband's
email address.
