Hi,
On using advanced search and search from the context menu I get the
following
error when the advanced search box opens.
"Outlook cannot perform your search. Outlook cannot display this
view. The
folders specified are not available."
The feature worked fine earlier.
I have tried the fix outlook /cleanfilters suggested in the KB and on this
newsgroup with not success. I have also started outlook in safe mode and
deleted all but the default search folders. I have also used the outlook
/resetfolders switch to start Outlook.
Even after all the above the error still persists. Is there any solution ?
Running Outlook 2003 SP2/XP SP2
Thanks,
Sumee

You might have a corrupted profile and have to create a new one. The
existing pointers within your message store that identify your "folder"
hierarchy are corrupted.

Created a new profile --- The same problem still rears its ugly head !!

I thought you were doing a search, picked an item found, and tried to open
it and that is when the error occurred. After rereading your original post,
it appears that just trying to display the Advanced Find dialog window
results in the error (so you cannot even start a search).

See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;240697. Looks
like the only command-line switch that you didn't try was the one needed for
the fix. Found by doing a search at http://support.microsoft.com, select
Outlook 2003, and find "advanced find error".
