outlook calendar

A strange thing...

Client has winxp, and having trouble keeping the system time set. Clock
always one hour behind. He sets it, then after a reboot, is back to one
hour behind. So, we looked. Correct timezone (Pacific), but not checked
for daylight savings time. I have him check to adjust for daylight savings
time.

Then he looks at his outlook calendar, and all the appointments are now a
day long! So, we set the date/time back to where it was by unchecking the
DST box, and the calendar goes back to normal.

What's going on here?

Thx.

Dear,
Please read below carefully:- and after that the solution.
( For more info read here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010565301033.aspx )
Outlook can't force an appointment to remain fixed when the time zone
changes. If you need the appointment to stay at a fixed time, you shouldn't
change your current time zone. You can add the additional time zone to keep
track of the non-primary time zone times. To change the time zone setting in
Outlook without changing the times for each of your appointments, you must
export the data from your Calendar folder, change the time zone setting, and
then import the data back into Outlook

solution:
To change the time zone setting in Outlook without changing the times
for each of your appointments, you can try to export the data from
your Calendar folder, change the time zone setting, and then import
the data into Outlook.

You can export to Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word,
Microsoft PowerPoint, or to a Personal Folders file.
On the File menu, click Import and Export. Click Export to a file, and then
click Next.
In the list, click the file type you want to export to, and then click Next.
If you want to export to a file for use in Word or PowerPoint, choose either
Tab Separated Values or Comma Separated Values.

To import follow the Import and Export Wizard below.

To Import the calendar back into Outlook, use the Import and Export
Wizard to move the contents of the file into a folder that you specify
in Outlook

Hope this helps you more

well, I can try the export/import, but we didn't change the timezone.

All we did was check the box for "adjust for daylight saving time."

Hi - you've posted your message as a reply to an old post (and not a
relevant one) - post new questions as new threads, and more people will see
them.
Anver's reply is correct, and you'll probably need to do the export/import,
unless you can find a third party utility to correct this for you. Search
