Outlook automaticaly asks for my PW?

When I open Outlook, (Outlook 2003), it automatically asks me for my
password.
I don't always want to check my mail, and don't see how to "turn this
off".

Appreciate any help.

On the screen that asks for the password, is there not an option in the
bottom left? "save password"?
