Outlook Attachment Query

Does anyone know if it's possible to strip attachments from items in the 'Inbox' [or 'Sent Items', for that matter] - so that I can keep the messages, without the bulk of attachments?
Any help much appreciated!

Open the message, click Edit>Edit Message, remove the attchment and close
the message. When you're prompted if you want to save the changes, click
Yes.
