Outlook attaching files problem

Saved word and excel files are not visible in the folder they were saved in
when I attempt to attach them. When I look in the folder through my computer
they are there but not when I go through the attaching pop up in outlook

in the file attach window, make sure the Files of Type is set to All Files
(*.*)
