Outlook and .dat files

How do I prevent my Outlook 2002 SP-1 from converting attachments to .dat
files in which my recipients are unable to read? For example, it converts my
..wmv files to .dat files whenever I send out emails. What gives?

Things to check...

* Make sure message format is set to plain text or html.
* Consider disabling Word 2002 as the e-mail editor.
* Check contact record of recipient to make sure it is marked to receive
Rich Text Always.

When I checked, Outlook was set for HTML and Word was not selected to be the
editor.

Then the last place I can think of checking is Tools > Options > Mail Format

Internet Format. The previous 3 + this one is the only places that

control message format unless you have some third party program installed
that is influencing Outlook.
