Outlook alway shows "disconnected mode"

I have a client that everytime he opens outlook 2003 on W2k, his status
is disconnected.

He can Ping the exchange server, all other network communication works
fine.

I tried removing Cached mode, and now it's always offline. His account
on exchage works fine so it's something with the laptop, but I tried
re-creating the account, repairing outlook, renaming outlook folders in
his profile...

Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Thank

No replies eh? I'm getting the same thing except running XP Pro. Able
to ping the servers but still showing Disconnected. Not in Offline
mode. *sigh*

Oh yeah OWA works fine and he can connect Outlook when connected to our
VPN. Hmph.

We found an issue with our domain controller. Until that's fixed this
workaround is working for him. Open Outlook and goto Tools > Email
Accounts > View or change... > click Change button > click More
Settings button > Security tab > change 'Logon network security' to
just 'Password Authentication (NTLM)'.

I had found in several cases, the client had the AEGIS protocol listed
in their local area connection (Following the install of a wireless
Card)

I removed the checkmark for the AEGIS protocol and this resolved the
Issue to my surprise.
Not sure if Aegis was conflicting with TCPIP ?

But it did solve the problem.
