outlook addresses not available to word

I am new to Office 2003. Previously, I had Windows 98 and I
was able to click on tools, envelopes, the address book icon and select an
address and it would insert it on my envelope in Word. Now, I can only get
the address that have email addresses connected to them. I would like to
have all the addresses available to me. I use OUtlook and not OUtllok
express. How do I fix this?

Almost as before. MS Office Word 2003. Tools> Letters & Mailings...>
Envelopes & Labels. In the dialog box that opens, click on the Entelopes
tab. To the right of the Words "Delivery address: is an address book Icon,
click on it. and select your address. It should allow you to select an MS
Office Outlook 2003 Contact whether name only or complete address.

Note, however, that Office 2003 will not use Outlook Contacts unless you
have Outlook selected as your default mail client. If you prefer Outlook
Express (as I do), you're SOL.

Suzanne,
I assume from his statement that Outlook would be his default, since he
states: "I use OUtlook and not OUtlook express...." Isn't it wonderful that
we have the ability to exercise many preferences. Our Computer Club holds
weekly question and answer sessions called "Computer Talk." When asked about
the session, I explain that any question may receive 6 different answers,
all of which may be correct.

Ah, yes, I missed that in the OP. Also, I should have written "Word 2003"
rather than "Office 2003," as I have no idea what restrictions there may be
on other Office apps.

I did that going to Word, Tools, Letter & Envelopes and clicked on the icon>
It only brought up the addresses that have email addresses. It doesn't show
any of the addresses that don't have email addresses.

This may be attributable to a small peculiarity that occurs when Outlook is
updated to a later version and loses track of its addressbook. You can
correct this by deleting the address book and then re-add it, which causes
Outlook to rebuild it. Yoiu thenm set the properties of the contacts list to
display as an e-mail address book.

So from Outlook
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books.
Select and remove outlook address book (you can probably remove any other
address book listed here - unless you are sure you need it.)
Next add > additional address books > outlook address book.
Then go to the contacts and right click 'contacts' in 'My Contacts' in the
left task pane. Select properties > Outlook address book > and check the box
'show this folder as an outlook address book'.
While you are in Contacts, set detailed address cards view. Check any
contact that does not have an address displayed (which should have an
address). Open the contact and save it.

Hopefully that will fix it.
