outlook address book

When sending an e-mail message from Outlook I select the
Address Book from the "To" field and when I click on the
name I want, or hit "enter" when that name is
highlighted, the only information put in the "To" field
is a 'period' or a 'semicolon' and not the actual e-mail
address. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Yes. You imported your Contacts and did so incorrectly.
