Outlook Address Book Sort Order

Mark

I'm using Outlook 2002 and I'm trying to set the sort
order to be lastname, firstname when I click on the To,
CC, or BCC buttons in a new message. It brings up the
Outlook Address Book with firstname, lastname. I've
already set the order to be lastname, firstname from the
Tools, E-mail accts, View or change existing address
books, etc. It displays the correct order when I browse
the Contacts, but when creating a message or displaying
the Address Book, it still has firstname, lastname.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Previously, the order the contacts are displayed in the Address Book was
determined by the Subject field in the Contact item. With 2002 and 2003, I
believe just the File As field determines the display order. If you open a
Contact item and change the value for the File As field, is that reflected
in the address book?

If you go back into the Address Book properties, I assume you selected File
As for the "Show names by:" option. If you check Tools | Options | General |
Contact Options, to what is the File As value set?
