Outlook 97

Outlook 97 (which is the only application from Office
that I want to use!) worked fine on XP Home. Now it will
not load onto XP professional.
Office 97 Professional CD and SP 1 and 2 onto a Compaq
Deskpro: it is as if it does not see it!
What am I missing?

Should work, and makes no difference XP Pro or Home.

What is the error message? Does the id you are installing it under have
sufficient permissions?

Be aware that Outlook 97 is very old and was quickly replaced with
Outlook 98. I realiase that Outlook is much more than email, but
remember Outlook 97 probably has some email security issues which were
never fixed. You'll probably not even find descriptions of these
problems anymore. Some fixed on Outlook 98 and thse patches still
available on Microsoft's web site. But beware of using Outlook 97 with
internet-based email from spammers and people you don't know.
