Outlook 97 in XP

In trying to install Outlook 97 under Windows XP, I find
that the "Internet Mail" service is not available. The
add-in "MINET.ECF" is shown in the list under the Add-In
Manager, but when I try to open it, nothing happens. Any
one had this experience or suggest what to do?

Thanks Kelly. I've looked through that material and not
found an answer. The descriptions of "how to" all tell
me about installing new add-ins (which I've attempted to
do a number of times), but they don't say what to do when
the procedure doesn't produce a result. I am beginning
to suspect some form of incompatability between XP and
Outlook 97 as an external mail manager. Ever heard of
such a thing?

Sorry, Wayne.....but I have never used Outlook, not even back in the day
when I had Office 97 installed. Good luck!

I am using Outlook 97 in XP, but I don't use it as my mail manager. I use it
with TruSync without any problems.

Steve,
Could I ask you to see if you're able to see the option
to add a new "Internet Mail" service under Tools-Services-
Add (not "Microsoft Mail")? If you can see it, I will at
least know that there's something wrong with my
installation rather than a basic incompatibility. This
would be really helpful. Thanks.
Wayne.
