Outlook 2007

So I've been using Outlook 2007 for sometime now. I just added McAfee
antivirus protection and all that entails... and now I cannot send emails
from Outlook. I've checked everything with my interenet/email server... and
everything is fine there... my only other thought is that there is a conflict
with Outlook and McAfee?? Has anyone else had a problem like that?? It is
rather frustrating.

Not a conflict exactly but if you have antivirus configured to actively
integrate with Outlook (such as scanning incoming/outgoing mail), you can see
this issue. Aggravating the problem could be that you have Outlook set to
poll for mail too frequently.

You can safely disable the mail scanning feature without compromising your
security since your on-access scanner will handle whatever it's updated for.
You should also set Outlook to poll about every 10 minutes, more frequently
and you could run into other problems as well especially with large
attachments.

Really solving this problem may entail uninstalling McAfee and then
reinstalling it without the email integration portion to get it to work
properly, if disabling that portion doesn't work.
