Outlook 2007

I am trying to send an email to a distribution list using Outlook 2007 with
an exchange server housed at Comcast. The names in the lists can get up to
114. When I send to any of my lists whether they are 114 names or 41 names I
get the error message "An unexpected error has occurred" - and no one gets
the email. Do you think it has to do with the size of the list - if so how
can I send to this many people - and I need the list to be in all one email
because I have to get replies from that group.

Easy test: Create a distribution list of just 2 names and try sending a
test message to that.

My guess is that whomever is administering your Exchange server
(Comcast?) is having expansion server problems. When you send an e-mail
to a distribution list using Exchange, there is a server (it may or may
not be the same server that hosts your mailbox) that is responsible for
expanding that distribution list - which means resolving the list to its
individual addresses so the message can be sent to all of those
recipients.

If there was a problem with that expansion server you could see the
results you're seeing - in which case any distribution list would fail
because Exchange wouldn't be able to replace "My Important Group" with
"(e-mail address removed); (e-mail address removed); (e-mail address removed)" etc.

Ben - Question - Was I supposed to try the "easy test" ? because that has
been done. I have distribution lists with several names and they work. It's
when I get to ??? somewhere between 27 and 41 that it becomes a problem. Let
me know your thoughts.
