Outlook 2007 will not import pst file

I am trying to move my 2007 outlook file from my desktop to my laptop running
2007 outlook with both machines running XP Pro. I copy the pst file to the
desktop of my laptop and then start the import function. When I go to select
the file to import it is not avaible on the desktop where I saved it. I have
checked and rechedcked to make sure it is on my desktop - Help this is
driving me crazy

Importing is never the correct way to transfer Outlook data. Open the file
in Outlook by following these instructions:
File > Open > Outlook Data file...

Are you sure you copied the pst-file then and not another file?
Configure Windows to show file extensions, if you haven't done so already,
to verify.

Don't put it on the desktop; move it to some serious location, e.g. a
folder on your C: drive or 'My Documents' folder.

Make sure that the 'read-only' attribute is not set.
