Outlook 2007 themes?

G

It says I have no themes installed and I want to change the default theme.
How do I enable themes...I would have thought there were other default
themes to choose from. If not, why not?

Thanks.

Yer, sorry I did not make it clear.
Its for Outlook 2007 and I am trying to get another theme for my outgoing
email.
When I look in Options>Mail Format>Stationary & Fonts>Themes..it states I
have no themes installed. I have tried a repair install, but nope. Funny
thing is it works on my laptop using XP Home with the exact same copy of the
program. Wierd.
The OS I am having problems with is Vista RTM. I would not have thought that
there would be a prob with Vista as 2007 is made to work with this OS...or am
I missing something?
Thanks for the reply btw.

Works as it should on my Vista. When you restart setup and choose add/remove
components does it indicate that themes are installed? Did you have any
previous version of Office installed on that machine? (including BETAs)

Hi Robert.
When I restart setup with add/remove it still indicates no themes.
Yes I had the beta installed..this could be the reason, but I cannot
remember if I uninstalled it first or just installed the full version over
the top..damn.
Could I just uninstall the Outlook option and then reinstall without losing
the other office progs?

Does it indicate that it is installed?

Try renaming normalemail.dotm to .old. You can find that here;
%appdata%\Microsoft\Templates

It does not indicate it is installed.
The path you mention is probably for xp? Anyway, searched the c: drive for
"normalemail.dotm" and found nothing. There extensions with .dotx but no
email templates as such.

As you have vista, could you do a search and see if you can locate it on
your system at all please? I might know if I am missing a certain file then.

Thanks.

If it doesn't indicate it is installed you should install it.

The path given works on Vista and XP as it contains a variable and the file
sure exists on my system. Simply paste it the address bar in Explorer.

I'm having the same problem as the original poster. I have Windows XP
and previously had Outlook 2003. I upgraded to Outlook 2007 as an
addition to the Office 2007 Home and Student Edition.

My stationary is the same default one I had in Outlook 2003. I would
like to change the default, but the themes section on the Options\mail
format\Stationary and Fonts is grayed out and it states 'themes" not
installed.

Any idea what this could be. Should I uninstall Outlook and reinstall
it?

Yes I did. I do not have frontpage. Only Outlook 2007, Word, Excel and PP
2003.
When I go to Tools | Options | Mail Format | Stationery and Fonts |
Theme....the Themes button is grayed out. When I go Actions | New Message
Using | More Stationery, nothing happens. I do have themes in Word and in
Office folders but for some reason Outlook does not see them. I reinstalled
just the Outlook themes and it still does not see them,

If you don't have Word 2007 and Outlook 2007 from the same Office SKU, themes won't work.

I have problems also using the themes.
When I go to new mail and want to use a theme, it will not apply. It is not
greyd out but it just won't apply. What do I need to do?
