Outlook 2007 Task Delete

When deleting a task in Outlook 2007 from within that item's widow, usin the
big delete button, I get an error message, " The operation failed. An object
could not be found." Then I can't close that task's window and the program
is hosed.
 
try office diagnostics to fix the problem.
