Outlook 2007 start-up problems

I just converted to Office 2007 and now everytime I start Outlook I get a
message that my PST file didn't close properly the last time it was used and
it is being checked for errors and Outlook pauses for several minutes while
the file is being checked. It never finds an error though. I created a new
PST file and transferred my folders to it and deleted the old one but that
didn't help. I also ran repair several times and that didn't help either.
Any ideas??
 
are you using a pda or any other application that uses outlook data? that is
the usual cause.

No PDAs or external connections to any other devices and Outlook is the only
program using it's data files.
