at present i have Outlook 2003 on Vista Premium, i have recently purchased
Outlook 2007 full stand alone version. When i install the 2007 Outlook how do
i avoid losing everything i have in Outlook 2003? e.g. inbox, sent messages
and contscts, as much as i want to upgrade to 2007 i don't relish the thought
of losing all of my mail and having to re enter all of my address book and
contacts. Kind regards.

Posted here every day.
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm
http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm

Do not attempt in in place upgrade of Outlook. If you do, then create a
brand new Outlook profile from scratch and migrate your data to it as
outlined above.

The instalation will offer to upgrade the old, & will reconnect to your data
file.
However backup of the data file is allways advised, whether upgrading or not

Not correctly it won't. You must create a new profile to restore all
settings after an in place upgrade.
