Outlook 2007 & SP2

I have installed Office SP2 for Office 2007. Since I did this I cannot use
the Send/Recieve button in Outlook 2007 when I am at a remote site using 3G
or ADSL connection. If I am at the Office and connected directly to the
network it works perfectly.

It works with Gmail and sends to my work email but hangs when trying to
recieve from my work email. It hangs at 75% complete if looking at the
details.

This only started after installing SP2 for Office 2007. prior to this
everything was working.

Any Ideas as to what I can do to rectify this without reinstalling Office
and SP1?
