Outlook 2007 SP1 100% CPU utilization

I've just set up a new machine - XP Pro, Office 2007, SP1. - a
perfectly clean install from scratch.

Outlook is frequently grabbing all of the CPU cycles and effectively
stopping.

I've perused the web and newsgroups and a few tidbits...

I only have 38 meg in my Mailbox (OST) and 2 meg in a PST file, so I
don't think it's the large message store problem.

I don't have any add-ins, so that's not the problem.

I don't have Google Desktop, so that's not it. I do have MS Desktop
Search.

I've installed a process monitor (Process Lasso) to watch what's going
on. The interesting thing is when I switch to the process monitor,
Outlook comes back to life and CPU use drops to normal levels.

So now I can get Outlook back, but it's annoying to have to Alt-Tab to
the pm and back every time it happens.

Any ideas?

thx.

Do you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook? Disable this
integration and try again.

Skip the update though, since that is already included in SP1.

I've tried everything as suggested, no luck.

I guess it's back to Outlook 2003 for me.

I've been running OUTLOOK 2007 with no performance related issues since the
release. Starting yesterday Feb 11th, Outlook utlization started pegging at
around 100%. There is definitely an update or gotchaware causing this issue.
If anyone has any ideas or a solution please post. Also, once this stated
the only way to kill Outlook exe is 'END PROCESS TREE'. Thanks....
