When I send a message in Outlook 2007, then "sending x of x" is incorrect.
For example, when I send a single message, in the status bar, the message is
"sending 2 of 2".

Why is this happening, and how can I fix it?

I too am experiencing this problem and came here to find the a way to resolve
it.

Not only does my prompt incorrectly tell me 'sending x of x', it also holds
my outgoing in the outgoing folder and repetitively sends said amount of
copies and more until I manually remove it. This only happens when there is
an attachment. Why?

I'm getting a similar problem. See my post "Status bar shows Sending message
4 of 4..." 26th April and the advice from Roady.

Still trying to resolve it though.

I am also having the same problem. If I send 1 email Outlook shows sending 6
of 6 then 7 of 7. I don't have anything in my outbox that won't go out. I
tried the suggestion using MDBVU32, but the Read doesn't show up in the
middle window - so I don't think it's a stuck read receipt.

See the link I posted.

As I said in my post - I did try that. The "read" doesn't show up in the
middle window. Any other ideas?

PegD is right - definately not stuck read receipts.

This seems to have everyone stumped!

I've figured out a little bit more of this (with the help of reading some
other newsgroups) but still not how to resolve it. I have 7 email accounts
enabled in the Send/Receive settings. If I disable one of the accounts (any
one) then the message count when sending changes from 7 of 7 to 6 of 6. So
it seems that it's related to how many active email accounts there are. So,
now how does the issue get resolved so the status bar reflects how many
messages are being sent instead of how many email accounts there are?

I have 5 accounts but the status bar shows 4 of 4, and not everytime there is
a send and receive.

There was a big Microsoft Update in the last couple of days. That might
have resolved it, but I'll have to wait and see.
