Outlook 2007 send/receive tasks going crazy

Recently my Outlook 2007 has been going haywire whenI hit send/recieve.
Normally my email has 7-9 tasks that is it doing during that sequence such as
sending, synchronizing, and receiving. Recently when I hit that button the
program begins to blink violently like it were "shorting out" and it shows my
send/receive details pop up box doing hundreds of tasks per minute and it
goes so fast I can't tell what it is saying it is doing.

I have exactly the same problem, and many others also have the same. I cannot
understand why Microsoft does not solve it or admit to the problem.

Because it isn't a "problem" for 99% of users......

Just because two people in the world have the same problem does not mean it's
a bug in Outlook. Prove there's nothing else wrong with your PC and its
configuration and I might agree with you then.

Thanks for the help.
It must be great to hide in the sand. The Internet is full of people with
this problem and they all have the same complaint. No one said it was a bug
in Outlook, just a vulnerability that is very annoying.
I did solve the problem, but it gets more and more difficult to solve each
time it happens.

Another question. Why waste my time if you had no answer except to give a
childish reprimmand to us, as if we were babies. Sounds like you have nothing
else to do than waste our time expounding on your lack of knowledge about a
problem. Your ignorance is noted.

Well you are the first one to post anything about this here - if, as you
say, the "internet" is awash with people with this problem then there would
be LOADS of posts here about it. There aren't.

Your lack of details in describing the problem and your specific configuration
was noted.

Oops! Forgot to include my post.

I guess I'm the third person that has taken the time to post this problem.
I am running XP Home Edition, SP3 with the latest updates to both XP and
Office 2007 including Outlook 2007.

The problem described in the original post is almost identical to what I
experience when sending a message and is somewhat random but when it does
occur, hundreds of task are being generated. On one occasion, there was an
Icon running along the Quick Launch bar all the way to the right side where
the Task Tray is located. The icon was flashing at the same rate as the task
were occuring and moving along the bottom of the screen rapidly. Outlook
going crazy does describe it pretty well because little else can be done
while this event is happening.

My first thought was that it was synchronizing folders but I turned off that
feature and as it continued, I eventually uninstalled Outlook, eliminated all
traces in the Registry and reinstalled. All was well for a time but recently
it has restarted this caper.

We must find a fix thank you, otherwise I will just have to go to an
alternate email program...but of course...it is too late to get my money back
for Outlook.
