Outlook 2007: Personal Folders + IMAP Unfolding; Drafts; Junk E-mail

Hi,
When you use IMAP in Outlook 2007, you are stuck with the Personal
Folders PST.

I would not mind this so much, but there are a couple of annoyances.

When you open up Outlook, the Personal Folders in Mail Folders, unfolds
(that is to say expands), while at the same time the IMAP account in
Mail Folders remains folded up, even if the user closed Outlook with the
folder expanded to see the Inbox contents.

Additionally, why are drafts saved to the Drafts folders on "Personal
Folders" instead of in the IMAP store? I see no reason why they should
not be put in the Drafts folder in the IMAP account.

And Junk E-mail- has anyone gotten it to work with IMAP on Outlook 2003
or Outlook 2007? Although Microsoft publishes that is will work, I
cannot get it to do the job. Any ideas?

Thanks,

JU

Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options, set the startup folder to your
IMAP Inbox, and it will unfold the IMAP account.

Outlook just can't do that. It does store sent items now on the server.

You need to have the full message downloaded before the junk email
filter runs. So it won't work on a message if there is just the header
downloaded. Let's say you click on a message that has just the header,
then Outlook will download the actual message and if it is junk move it
in the junk email folder.
You might want to consider to set up send/receive so that it downloads
full items for your Inbox.
