Outlook 2007 not refreshing inbox on arrival

Outlook 2007 on Vista, POP3/SMTP.

When mail arrives in my inbox, the folder name becomes bold to indicate that
there are unread items - as per normal.
But the items can not be seen in the folder until I navigate away to another
folder and return.

Google found someone else with the same issue, but I haven't seen a cause or
fix.

First thing I would try is to reset the view - view>Current view > customize
current view . reset current view

How about running scanpst or running a repair from add/remove in control
panel

Did any one find a solution for this yet? I have gone to a new Vista Box
(fresh Ofc2007 install) and copied my pst from my XP box, and I still have
the problem. The mesage indicator bumps up, but no refresh on my inbox.

Except the feeling that OL2007 broke more than it added.

I got this problem in Outlook and first I tried all solutions I found on
forums:
- renaming some files from Outlook directory if Outlook was installed as an
upgrade from Outlook 2003 -> this was not my case because I installed it from
scratch
- disabling antivirus -> this was neither my case because at this time I did
not have any anti-virus installed yet
- disabling add-in from Outlook (especially Google Desktop Search) -> I did
not have Google add-in but I disabled all other add-ins and still did not fix
my problem
The last thing I did was re-running the Office setup and chosing Repair as
option. Now I got back the automatic refresh of new messages in Inbox and the
notifications. However, I saw some remarks on forums that repair did not fix
their problem. Anyway in my case it worked.
