I had a crash due to a plug-in from Linked-In and which I have removed since,
but after another crash of Outlook 2007 I removed and when I went to
reinstall I get
X Not Available
I then uninstalled all Outlook 2007 related products, templates, add-ins etc.
started Outlook 2003 and got some errors. Then uninstalled Outlook 2003.
Oulook 2007 was still "Not Available" from B2TR so I installed Oulook 2003
and cannot send or receive messages. No problem with connectivity (typing
this message from same machine). I would like to get back to Outlook 2007.
I would be greatful for any guidance, suggestions, heck I will even take
some humor at this point....

Roady, thanks, but when I try to uninstall completely I get the following
error:
"This product installation has been corrupted. Run setup again from the CD,
DVD, or other original installation source."
I do that and under customize I see the Office Outlook 2007 is: "X Not
Available"
What should I try next?... I'll go work on one of my old cars... and take
some #@^?+@# frustration out of the way... Thank you. (It looks like manual
uninstall is next...)

Haha, yep, BETA software comes often with some good frustrations. It's good
to have an additional hobby to get your mind from it.

It sounds like you'll have to an additional step first; repair the software
installation. Reinstall as is right now and then uninstall the entire suite
again. From here a new installation should allow you to install Outlook
again. The BETA2 installer has some (now) known issues.

Roady, What a mess, I tried manually repairs, manual installs, manual clean
up and nothing but errors. I decided to take a shortcut... I removed
anything with 2007 including Visio and any other dev software. Then I went
into the registry and deleted Office 12 and Everything under it. Then
installed it again and vuala' it works again. I think for the people reading
this, it is much simpler to just wipe out and start fresh. Do not worry
about left over files, the fresh install will overwrite and save you a lot of
frustration. I will run the B2TR and then to change the AC compressor for my
1969 Coronet 500. Then do a tuneup on my 1973 Mercedes 280 Coupe. Then a
nice glass of wine at a live guitar coffee shop, or anything except Office
2007.

Aha, I get your issue now; you had additional Outlook 2007 BETA 2 TR
products installed. Once you've applied TR2 to any BETA product you cannot
install any new BETA 2 applications without removing TR2 first. It is
actually in the release notes but easily forgotten once you've updated
everything.

Nice wheels and cheers! ;-)

Does this mean, when we get the RC1 or RC2 or Final Release I have to
uninstall TR2 before ? Can you send a suggestion to detect if TR2 is
installed and cleanup before install? Always happy to make suggestions and
save others some hassle. Now to polish my 1966 mustang. My collection starts
in 1926 with a Chevy sedan and ends with a 1978 Silver Wraith II and lots of
rust buckets in between. That is what I call them.
One more question if I may. Can I add the Business Contact Manager for
Outlook 2007 after I have intalled TR2 or will that put me back where I
started. In other words do I need to uninstall TR2 before I install anything
else?

There won't be any other beta/RC releases anymore. Next release will be
the final one.
Yes, you'll have to remove all Office 2007 beta applications from your
computer, and then install the final release.
BCM is the exception in the list. You can install BCM B2TR after the
B2TR patch has been installed, because BCM B2TR is not a patch, but
rather a complete new install.

Thank you for your posting on Outllook 2007 B2TR.

I forgot to take care of the items you mentioned in your posting. When I
deleted Office 12 and B2TR files I was able to reinstall and it works.
