Outlook 2007 Losing Folder View Settings

I think I've found a legitimate bug, but I haven't been able to find any
reference to it online anywhere.

Seemingly at random, Outlook 2007 is losing the VIEW > CURRENT VIEW setting
I've applied (which, in this case is HIDE MESSAGES MARKED FOR DELETION) to
my IMAP account. After using Outlook for several hours with everything
working fine, I'll delete an email and rather than making it vanish it will
show up grayed out and with a line through it - meaning it's been marked for
deletion, but not hidden as it's supposed to be.

If I look under the CURRENT VIEW settings, there will be no check-mark next
to any of the settings. If I then select HIDE MESSAGES MARKED FOR DELETION,
it will reset the view to some sort of default state: it removes the reading
pane, it turns on autopreview, and it re-sets the "Arranged By" sort
setting. But then at this point messages are properly hidden. Once I change
the settings back to how I want it (reading pane on right, autopreview
turned off) things are fine...until it happens randomly again.

This isn't a one-time occurrence, it's been happening to me for weeks, and
happens after reboots, re-starts of Outlook etc. I have an Exchange account
and six IMAP accounts configured in Outlook.

Has anyone encountered this issue?

Is this in the same folder and not when you switch folders?

It's hard to tell - I have six IMAP accounts, and I pop back and forth
between various inboxes constantly. The only visual indication I have that
anything has changed is when I delete the message and it goes grey instead
of vanishing.

Anything I should be checking, or is this just a bug?

View settings such as Hide Messages Marked for Deletion are per-folder. If
you don't set it for each of your IMAP folders, you'll see some exhibit the
behavior you want and others exhibit the default behavior. Is this what's
happening?

No, that's not what's happening. I've set the view settings for each of my
inbox to be:

- hide deleted messages
- reading pane on right
- autopreview off

All six inboxes have those settings, and they work properly throughout my
day. Then, seemingly at random, one or more infox folder will "lose" the
view settings and go back to default. Hence my problem. :)

Alas, then, I cannot explain it.

Well, here's hoping someone else in this group can....

I have a user with a similar problem. Been that way for a while. MAPI connection, but the behavior seems similar. Curious if you ever heard anything on your post.
