I just installed Outllok 2007 on my workstation which previosuly had Outlook
2003 connected to an exchange server.

I allowed the office install to remove the previous version.

When I open Outlook 2007 the interface is the same as outlook 2003. When I
open\create a message I see the updated interface not when I am viewing my
inbox.

Hopefully somebody can help me understand.

Thank you

Paul

That's perfectly normal. Only individual Outlook item windows show the new ribbon interface.

Outlook took the most work of all Office programs when it came to the
new user interface. Outlook has actually 19 different Ribbon interfaces
(one for each of the individual element types you can have in Outlook)
while Access, Excel, PPT and Word have just one each.
Just getting those 19 ribbons done took a lot of work and MS didn't have
the resources to change the main window of Outlook as well.
