hello,
I have tried everything, eg: installing & unisnstalling Outlook 2007 Beta 2
+ installing & reinstalling WDS version 3.0, but the Instant Search still
returns "no matches"......
any ideas on a solution would be welcome, as I don't want to uninstall
Outlook 2007
Thanks.............Stephen

I have the same problem with instant search and Outlook 2007. I notice some
others installed the beta desktop search, but I don't think that that
application is installed on my system.

Are all your storages included in Tools, Options, Search Options,
Indexing?
I think there is a way to force a manual reindexing. Does anyone else
from the tech beta know how to do that?

All storages are included, but still returns "no matches".
To force a manual reindex sounds like it might be the solution.....fingers
crosssed!

Finally found it. Control Panel, Indexing Options (I keep forgetting
that indexing is WDS and hence a system service. It is controlled by the
control panel). Click Advanced, then Rebuild. You'll probably have to
leave Outlook open for quite some time afterwards. I suggest starting
this before you leave the computer for the night.

Thanks for taking the trouble to locate the manual index rebuild.
It didn't work though, but at leaset I have got back the "This Folder Only"
search, by uninstalling WDS and setting "This folder Only" in each Folder. So
I can live with that untill the full release comes out.
Thanks again.................Bernard
