Outlook 2007 Inbox content disappeared

Had Outlook inbox open and clicked to open an email and entire contents of
inbox disappeared. The folder still shows the number of unopened emails. A
test email sent to my mailbox is received and the number of unopened emails
increased, but can't figure out where why I can't see the contents of my
inbox.

Have looked at previous posts and didn't find them helpful...

Has something happened to the View settings?
 
Difficult to find, I ran scanpst which managed to fix the problem. It would
be great if Microsoft made this utility more easily available, along with
finding the .pst file.
