Outlook 2007: IMAP disappearing messages!

I am fairly new to using IMAP (vs POP) . My concern is that I have messages
that appear to have disappeared from Outlook!

For example, I look at one of my IMAP folders in Outlook and see only one
message. However, when I log onto my mail server through the web interface
and look at the same folder, all my messages are there. Why is outlook only
showing one? Is there some setting I have wrong? So far I have only seen
this in one folder. All my folders appear in the list of subscribed folders.

Thanks a lot

I don't use IMAP (except rarely and only for testing) so I'm not an IMAP
expert. As I recall, in the IMAP account that you defined in Outlook,
you need to specify which server-side folders to which Outlook will
subscribe. Those are the folders to which Outlook will sync. So is
this unnamed folder of yours on the server also subscribed in the IMAP
account defined in Outlook?

Hello,

Yes the folder is called "Access" and it IS subscribed.

Another thing - I see the messages in the IMAP client on my iPhone so I know
its an Outlook config problem.

Then I'd start looking at the view on the folder in Outlook and what
rules are defined.

Also try running Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe") which
won't load any add-ons or COM add-ins in case those are causing the
problem.

Well I couldn't see an option to tweak the folder view. I also ran it in
safe mode but to no avail :(
