Outlook 2007 - How to fix the indexer

I support someone using outlook that uses the Instant Search and Advanced
Search all the time on lots of data ( 300 MB inbox) and several PST's > 2 GB
in size. The advanced find function no longer seems to be working. Is there
a way to reset the index? How long does it take to re-index?

Go to the Control Panel, System and Maintenance category, Indexing Options.
From the Indexing options dialog, choose Advanced, then Rebuild.

Thank you. The problem is somewhere else with the indexing service. In the
services, the Windows Search service did not start ( although it was still on
automatic). After starting the service, the Index still does not run.

Go to the Control Panel, System and Maintenance category, Indexing Options.
From the Indexing options dialog, choose Advanced, then Rebuild.

Had a similar problem, rebuilding did not index all fo the messages. Had to
delete and recreate the outlook profile. Indexxing eventually completed.
