I just got laid off. I backed up my work Outlook 2007 .pst files before they
took my PC. I need to read them from home but I have Outlook 2002 at home. I
get an error that they are not compatible with Outlook 2002. Is there a way
to read those files or import them? A plug-in or converter to use or
something?

Download the trial version of Office 2007. You can then create a pst file in
97-2002 format.
BUT - do you have permission to use email created in and sent to your
previous company? Do they know you have this?

There is no way other than finding some one with Outllook 2007 who will open
them for you and move the data to an old format pst file
