this very elemenatary feature of their email program? Did they check Outlook
2007 before it went out the door? Is this just me? I dont' think so, others
have reported the same problem.

Like others, I cannot get Outlook 2007 from double-spacing the signature
lines. I have set plain text as my default format and have selected a default
style in Word 2007 that does not double space the CR, all to no avail.

I write many emails every day. I don't want to edit the signature line each
time I compose and email. Would re-installing the software be any help.

Check in the text format section. It's hidden, but its there.

Thanks for the reply but,

What format section? I go to Tools, Options, Mail Format, Signture. And from
Here there doesn't appear any options that helps.

I have tried selected the signature text, right clicking to bring up the
contect menu. From there I do select Paragraph and spedifically set the line
spacing to single. This doesn't have any effect. When a new email is
produced, or I reply to an email, the signature lines are double spaced.

I have deleted the signature and re-entered, careful to used shift+enter
instead of enter. Still no use.

In tools, options, mail format, create your signature, highlight all of it,
right click and you will see "paragraph). Click on that and do the
formatting.

I have done that. It still doesn't work. When I create a new email, the
signature is still double spaced.

But I did discover a partial workaround. The problem seems to occur when the
default text is set to "plain text". If I choose "rich format", I CAN set the
paragraph settings so that the will stick. Try doing it with plain text on
your system. See if you have the same problem.

The fact that I can only get this to work with Rich Format is a bug in my
view.

Plain text doesn't accept formatting. I send everthing in formatted html
mode. Since plain text doesn't wrap, you will have to use a hard return and
empty space to emulate double spacing

Since Daniel doesn't seem to know too much about Outlook 07, let me explain
that the info about attachments is created as the message itself is created.
It occurs on my own computer (evidently by Outlook). It is not attached
when the message goes out, and neither of my ISP's (Verizon and ATT) are
adding that. I am inquiring if the setting is somewhere in the options or
if it needs a registry fix.
